The old medieval part of the town of Montecchio is idyllic and is a nice example of a traditional mountain town in Umbria.
The narrow streets and houses woven into each other to fit as many as possible within the city walls leaves a network of staircases and overpasses.

When you are there then take a break at the bar on the central square, just outside the old center, or visit one of the restaurants in town (f.ex. Kilometro Zero).
